The RPW and their “incumbents” can’t survive a bottom-up grassroots organizational structure, so they
have taken the steps necessary to make sure that their elected officials who are willing to “go along to
get along” with the current republican leadership have protection from the grassroots. Those
protections are especially important from county and district level leaders who have risen from the
ranks of the patriot wing of the party. They actually expect results from our representatives in Madsion
and Washington DC.
Recently the RPW Executive Committee met in an emergency meeting (that they are now calling a
“special” meeting) to make sure that our Republican elected officials do not answer to the rank-and-file
party members. The new “code of conduct” prevents criticism of elected officials that are known to
Brian Schimming as “incumbents” and basically silences dissention. It has been our opinion here at the
WCD that the real authority that should guide the party is the party platform. The Republican platform,
the platform that was developed, debated, modified and in the end approved by the rank-and-file
members of the county parties and brought to the state party. That platform is a CONSERVATIVE
platform. The platform is overwhelmingly pro-life, pro personal responsibility, and pro-business. The
platform is clearly less government spending and less government intrusion in our lives. The people who
join the party support fairness, honesty and equal treatment under the law. The RPW does not. There’s
just no money in that. The money comes from favoritism; the leadership feeds the lobbyists who then
feed money into the leadership’s campaign coffers. The current ROFR bill is just another example in a
long line of sell-outs and abuses.
Three “elected officials” can now remove a county chair. As I’ve been saying again and again, our current
slate of “republicans” cannot survive fair and honest primaries from within. The RINO’s NEED protection
from county chairs. Like Stephanie Soucek and Kirt Johnson protected Joel Kitchens whose miserable
track record is well documented at Savagespeaks.Substack.com. The only way the current RPW
leadership can survive is if “we the people” answer to them. Of course the only way democracy survives
is if our elected officials answer to us. So, in practice as well as theory, the current RPW leadership
needs to be removed in order to save our democracy. Is there any other way to see it?

Tariffs are America’s financial “Right to Try”
Tariffs are America’s financial “right to try” before we become insolvent. The United States
economy is on life support. We’re adding a trillion dollars of debt every 100 days. The situation
is getting worse by the minute, and the day of reckoning is approaching. The government is
spending billions on nonsensical projects. DOGE found in 11 days what our congressmen and
women have been funding with our precious tax dollars for decades. It amounts to waste,
incompetence, and outright fraud and corruption. The culprits are fighting back hard. The sky is
falling don’t you know? The trade deficit in 2024 is estimated by the Bureau of Economic
Analysis to have been $918.4 billion. Almost every country we “do business” with has massive
tariffs on our goods while we welcome their cheap products made with slave labor at factories
with nonexistent pollution standards. Meanwhile the United States has lost millions upon
millions of manufacturing jobs that used to pay a living wage. Our steel mills are quiet, and our
auto industry is limping along. Those who wish to buy things made in America are at a loss to
find anything that is. Trump is trying to change all that and he may very well have to do it alone.
The democrats and their cohorts in the press are having a field day with the tariff issue. The
American people expect immediate results and instant satisfaction. So does Rand Paul from
what I understand. There are more than a few “Republicans” that seem to have more interest in
preserving the status quo than saving the American economy. I believe Trump will be successful
in demanding that we have free trade at best, and fair trade at a minimum. What choice do we
have? Besides learning to speak Chinese? Trade reform is our last hope. We have a right to try,
and God bless Donald J Trump for having the will and the foresight to do so.
Healthcare conversation
We cannot let the senseless murder of a healthcare CEO prevent us from having a conversation
about a healthcare system that is completely screwed up. Obamacare gave free healthcare to
the poor while passing along the burden of paying the bill onto the middle class. The wealthy
never participate in the same system.
Brian Schimming AWOL again!
Schimming should have stopped the nonsensical infringement on free speech within the RPW.
From what I understand he didn’t even attend the “Special” meeting held on Palm Sunday that
passed the new rules which featured the “code of conduct.” I’m told he doesn’t support the new
rules. How convenient. Where is the press release. He’s the chairman. He should have stood up
and said so. I’ve seen this before. He can quietly tell everyone he doesn’t support the new rules
while not offending all the idiots on the executive committee that did. The vote was 24 -7 or
something like that. I’ve written in a past edition about the “quiet no” that legislators cast so that
4 years later when the horrific effects of a bill become apparent, they can say “I was a no, look it
up!” Of course, if the bill is bad enough to be a “no vote”, it’s bad enough to stand up and say
so, publicly. The same goes for this kind of nonsense. Stand up Mr. Schimming.
RPW – TPA – MAGA
I met with a legislator yesterday who used the term MAGA to reference a certain group of
people in their area (area not necessarily their district, but greater area) who expect allegiance
to certain “philosophies” for lack of a better term. I have gone through great lengths to explain
my position (and that of the Wisconsin Conservative Digest) on Turning Point, the Republican
Party of Wisconsin and now I’ll include MAGA. I adhere to all of it, some of it, and in certain
instances not-so-much of it. What I do adhere to is the Republican platform. I support all of
things ALL of our Wisconsin legislators ALL RUN ON but then go to Madsion and fail to do. Our
Republican platform is a CONSERVATIVE platform. Less government. Where are these less
government pieces of legislation? At the time of this writing there are 245 Assembly Bills and
235 Senate Bills. None of them reduce the size, scope or the cost of government. None. The
budget has practically doubled in the last six years. Pro-Life? I’d like a count of all the
legislators that ran on the “let’s water down our pro-life principles” platform. There were none,
they only do that once they get to Madison. The grassroots are pro-life, pro-business, pro
personal responsibility, and pro common sense. So far this session we’ve spent half of our time
trying to keep the republican led legislature from passing a horrible energy bill and the other half
of our time has been spent fighting the RPW’s attempts to shut us up.
NOTE: Until we have a leadership team in Madison that doesn’t force our representatives to
choose between the interests of their voters and the interests of the leadership team (including
special interests and their lobbyists) we will be forever in the divided position we are in now.
So, let’s have a real test of who’s the good guys and who are the bad guys. We need someone
to stand up and show some real leadership. I don’t want to hear another word about TPA from
the RPW, and I don’t want to hear another word about RPW from TPA. Shut up and lead…
Chair of Chairs
So far there are three people running. Joel Bartel of Waupaca County, Pete Church of Adams
County and former Chair of Dane County, Scott Grabins. As I understand it, former chairs are
allowed to run but that seems really suspicious to me. If you decided not to run for reelection, or
in Grabins’s case, got beat by the likes of Brandon Maly, why should you be able to occupy such
an important position on the executive committee? The people of Dane County chose Maly over
Grabins (like it or not), but Grabins can be selected by the rest of the chairs as Chair of Chairs?
NOTE: Three quick points. The Chair of Chair is an important position because they get a
vote on the executive committee. That’s where they vote on things like First Amendment
restrictions. Second, everything the RPW does is suspicious to me, probably because
they can’t be trusted. Thirdly, in full disclosure, we support Joel Bartel of Waupaca
County. He’s a fighter for all the right reasons.
Joel is the Chair of Waupaca County, and they’ve got it going on! The patriots, the long-time
traditional Republicans, and the general membership are all on the same page. The RPW
members should take note. The grassroots are alive and well in Waupaca County. That
conservative Republican platform that we talk about from time to time is also alive and well The
main take away is that Joel fights for the causes that the grassroots support, not what the
Madison cabal supports. We need more of that. A lot more.
Governor’s Race
So far there’s just a few people who we know are running for Governor. Congressman Tom
Tiffany and Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann. Inside sources say that Timothy
Ramthun is seriously considering getting into the race as well. With the primary election still 17
months away, let’s not get too far out in front of our skis. A lot can happen. For now, let’s leave it
at this. The WCD has already expressed some concerns about Tom Tiffany. Tiffany also has
some positive points that we can discuss. No one will be perfect. Timothy Ramthun will certainly
score higher than either of the other candidates in many areas. He’s also a guy who is in it for
the right reasons. We know about his focus on election integrity, but he also to this day serves
on a local school board. Josh Schoemann’s WCD scorecard doesn’t look promising at all. I have
a long and storied history with Mr. Schoemann. I worked with him back when he was the Village
Administrator for Richfield, Wisconsin. I served on the Hartford High School Board of Education
with him. And being a resident of Washington County, I’m familiar with his performance as
county executive. In many areas he receives an F. There is no question in my mind he will be
the establishment favorite. Needless to say, there will be much more written about the race in
the months to come.
Draft Timothy Ramthun!!
In response to the governor’s race heating up, way too early in my opinion, I posted on
Facebook my early thoughts on the race, including my synopsis on Josh Schoemann. The post
generated a lot more buzz than I had anticipated, after all, I’ve been warning about Schoemann
for years (close to 20). The response from the various patriot groups was very forthcoming.
There will be a concerted effort to draft Ramthun into the race. Let’s make two quick notes here.
First, I will not be spending much more time on a primary race that is 17 months away. That’s
enough time for everyone to end up hating each other. Secondly, I will be able to show that
Schoemann is the establishment’s choice (i.e. the swamp). Because he is.
The Wisconsin Six
The WCD will not go as far as to “blame” the Wisconsin Six for the massive amount of deficit
spending that has led to the exploding national debt. However, the WCD took notice of Derrick
Van Orden’s constant berating of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene when they took on
Speaker McCarthy and his refusal to address the out-of-control spending. The method of
operation has been to bring a watered-down bill with no spending cuts to the floor and then
berate the conservatives for not supporting it. Why is there never a conservative bill brought
forward and let the moderates oppose it. The excuse that we don’t have a big enough majority
is getting used up as well. The republicans have a majority, period. They all ran on getting
government spending under control. Let’s get’r done! If any one of the Wisconsin Six wants to
weigh in, we’ll print their response. Derrick Van Orden is not personally responsible for the
pending financial crisis but the constant mindset of kicking the problem down the road is.
Someone stand up and lead!!
