Milwaukee – The City of Milwaukee just got an extra $21,748,559 from the shared revenue kitty (the Milwaukee Bailout), bringing the total to $239,234,150 every year. Yes, that is $239 MILLION, in ADDITIONAL Money, EVERY year! For the last 26 years they have gotten $217,485,591. The roads are undrivable, the crime is out of control, the schools are some of the worst in the country, property taxes (in addition to the shared revenue money) are through the roof, no pun intended, and the negative effects of the Biden economy has hit Milwaukee harder than most anywhere else in Wisconsin. The first thing Mayor Cavalier Johnson and the City Council did after the “Milwaukee Bailout” was to give themselves a nice raise while raising sale tax to 7.9%! Milwaukee can’t survive with that kind of leadership, or lack thereof.
Fathers are almost as scarce as police officers are in Milwaukee, and for those who can’t find employment, you can always ride in circles on the $123 million HOP all day. It’s free, and if the ride is too short don’t worry, Milwaukee’s leadership under Mayor Johnson is planning to spend $343 million to expand the ride to the Fiserv Forum.
David Crowley’s Milwaukee
David Crowley may be the county exec, but he comes from the city . Assembly District 17, where you get your gas during the day and watch out when going through a green traffic light, be sure to look both ways.
Crowley served in the legislature for 4 years and I spent some time in his office. My boss represented a chunk of Milwaukee, and we had some commonsense bills that we were considering. I presented them to him and like all legislators that really don’t want to do anything, he listened, took a copy of the drafts and sent me on my way. I never heard back.
As a matter of fact, he has no clue on what to do about the problems in Milwaukee. Let’s start with the schools and the 1.61-billion-dollar budget. The decline in enrollment has the student population down to 60,390 students (that’s $26,660 per student for all you MPS grads!). Of course, no one will be taught how to read or write. And David Crowley will DO NOTHING except throw more tax dollars at the problem.
NOTE: Mayville Schools will spend $15,858 per student and everyone can read!
Tell me this isn’t at the root of the crime in Milwaukee, which David Crowley has done NOTHING to thwart. Milwaukee continually ranks in the top 10 for violent crimes and also property crimes. The county is in charge of the court system and Crowley has not addressed the main issues.
The only crime solutions he has espoused are a the “soft on crime” policies that favor social workers over police and “therapy” over jail time. Coming up in part two!
David Crowley Solved World Hunger – And Told No one!

Suddenly David Crowley has all the answers. According to his commercials he has a plan to provide affordable healthcare, nutritional food, and a never-ending supply of affordable housing? Well. Mr. Crowley, where have these solutions been for the decade of your public service career? And a better question is… What are these “plans” that you tout in these commercials? When will our knowledge and understanding be enhanced with the exciting details? So far you have done nothing… Nothing to solve the food desert that has plagued Milwaukee. Nothing to make your streets safer. Nothing to promote housing investment in your city. NOTHING! The people of Wisconsin stand ready to be enlightened!
Milwaukee’s Decline is a Long Time Coming

Milwaukee is known as the only major city in the country that has elected three socialist Mayors. But please understand, the three socialist Mayors, Seidel, Hoan, and Zeidler never would have dreamt that people would promote the ideals that are now a staple of the Democrat Party. People choosing welfare over work, women choosing fatherless homes over marriage, men choosing drugs and crime over families, and the court system choosing criminals over victims. Milwaukee’s history as a thriving industrial city is rich in work ethic and vitality. Master lock, Harley-Davidson, Allen Bradly, the Breweries, the can plants, the iron and steel factories, the list could go on forever. Milwaukee was once a thriving city. We started to see the results of the liberal policies of welfare, Godlessness, drugs, and fatherless homes in the late 1900’s. By the turn of the century (2000) both Capitol Court and Northridge shopping mall closed. I lived very close to Northridge and watched the rise and fall of the largest mall in Wisconsin. By that time the crime had taken its toll. For the first 24 years of the new century, failing liberal policies in Milwaukee were met with a doubling down of more liberal policies. Liberal policies always seem to make things worse for the people and better for the leaders who line their pockets. But just like Biden’s economy, life in Milwaukee doesn’t have to be this way.
Lots of Crime – But How many Criminals?
Even an occasional listener of the Mark Belling Show has heard him rattle off the list of prior crimes any one particular perpetrator involved in Milwaukee crime has committed. Over the years he correctly points out that most of the crime in Milwaukee is done by a few individuals. It is the failure of the court system to protect law abiding citizens in Milwaukee. From the District Attorney’s office to the lenient judges, criminals are continually set free without bail. The criminals are then free to committee more crimes, and they do so without fear of consequences. The buck stops with County Executive David Crowley as well as Mayor Johnson.
It Doesn’t Have to be This Way
As the title of this article suggests, it’s all about leadership. Milwaukee is clearly trapped in a vicious circle that consists not only of poverty, but of crime, poor schools, and irresponsible government. We know we can’t rely on the news media to finally say, enough is enough, this is simply a bridge to far. They will never report the news fairly. So, the message has to be delivered by a grass roots efforts of Conservative groups, the Republican Party, the candidates and of course news outlets like the WCD and others. The WCD in past editions has included a series called “America Under Attack” and as it has been pointed out, the urban communities have suffered the most. The formula to repair the damage is fairly simple. Punish criminals, reward work, and encourage families, but first, we need some leadership. David Crowley isn’t it.
