Assembly Bill 7 and Senate Bill 3 look to extend some local control, but will it pass the Republican led legislature and will the Governor veto the measure? There’s a lot of money at stake!!!
Windmills, Solar Farms and the China Connection?
Let’s ask the questions that need to be asked.
First, why is it so hard to pass legislation that 75% of the people support? What seems to be the hold up. We have already thoroughly discussed that the legislature failed to pass a bill last session that would prohibit China from owning farmland. We barely escaped the “right of first refusal bill” that would give a few energy companies a monopoly over transmission projects. And we fully expect a hard fight over a bill currently in the legislature that would give local municipalities some control over these projects. Again, question number one is why these bills aren’t FLYING through the legislature.
One answer could be the $1,519,308 that the energy companies have “donated” to our elected officials and their reelection efforts over the past six years.

The second question is, why are they targeting our farmland? Why not use rooftops or parking lots? It’s not just these power companies that stand to gain from these inefficient, wasteful and TOXIC energy sources. China would love for America to destroy its prime farmland with ridiculously foolish energy projects while they build coal and nuclear power plants one after another. The WCD needs to ask. Is there a China connection? America won’t win the AI race with windmills and solar panels.
