Hillsdale is the last independent college in the US, free from federal regulation oversight. The Carter administration put the squeeze on, demanding onerous compliance, so Hillsdale was forced to decline federal funding. Then the Carter administration proclaimed that because some students get government loans, Hillsdale must still abide by their rules, so the college was forced to find independent funding for students too. President Larry Arnn says the regulations are 500 pages long, and only an expert or two knows what they mean. It is eye-opening to understand that federal education funding is really about forcing obedience across academia.
Hillsdale also stands out with its monthly Imprimis national speech digest. 7,500,000 read it. It features speeches by top conservatives and is free and will be sent to you for the asking. Hillsdale also has free online classes in eight categories, including history, economics, and politics. Millions have taken these courses.
Hillsdale College had its 22nd cruise recently, sailing on the luxurious Silver Dawn to Norway and Denmark. About 350 people were in our group. We were able to talk to about 50 people from across the US about our crime history educational website, StopCrimeUSA.com. We met some influencers like Sean Davis, the founder of the Federalist.
