It looks like the ill-advised open border policy that Border Czar Kamala Harris has allowed to persist for the better part of four years might finally be coming back to bite her hard. Gangs from Venezuela may not quite understand that it’s an election year and they’re not supposed to draw negative attention to the woman who made their visit possible.
How many of us knew right from the beginning that the millions of people crossing weren’t all Mexican nationals looking to live the American dream? How many fentanyl deaths do we need to see? How many raped and murdered women and children do we need to see? How much money do we need to spend transporting mostly military aged men across the country to settle in towns and cities everywhere? How much more economic pressure can the healthcare system take?
We are growing the national debt to the tune of a trillion dollars every 100 days and even that increase is growing larger by the day. Even with our children dying by the thousands on a daily basis, the Democrats refuse to close the border. The solution is simple, elect Donald Trump.
The upside to an open border is what?
Even if one argues that there’s not enough working age adults to fill all the jobs available, well over half the immigrants in the US receive welfare and over half of all welfare recipients do not work full time on a steady basis. Able bodied adults should be working and for a whole host of reasons. Every adult should be encouraged to work and not working should not be rewarded. Having said all that, an increase in work visas for people who wish to come into the country to work can easily be achieved.
Safety is a top-tier priority
The purpose of government is to protect our liberties, freedoms and to enforce constitutional laws that have been passed in a manner consistent with the process laid out in our federal and various state constitutions. Certainly, allowing an invasion of unvetted foreign entities to cross the border into our country violates that very mission.
The Sexual Exploitation of Children is Real
Why aren’t we doing more to prevent small children (or anyone for that matter) from being trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation? As a civil society we are extremely sensitive about how we treat animals, employees in workplaces and even prisoners have advocacy groups to better their living conditions. Where is the concern for tens of thousands of children being sex trafficked every day? Senator Ron Johnson recently asked about the 85,000 missing immigrant children that are very well likely being trafficked as I write this piece. Update: It appears there are hundreds of thousands of missing children.
The solution is so simple a fifth grader could do it.
Every child will tell you that if you give people crossing the border free stuff, they are going cross the border. Duh!!! Equally, if you dole out harsh penalties for committing crimes, you’ll have less crime! Again, duh! And the idea that we are simply too “compassionate” to seal the border is hogwash. We need to make sure that people who wish to come to America to live the American dream are people who are ACTUALLY coming to America to live the American dream. Let’s build the wall, enact the remain in Mexico policy, and quit giving out free stuff, and dole out harsh penalties for those who commit crimes. Pretty simple!
Postscript note: Trump has been elected, and we should all take a quick victory lap!
