Faith.
Most every day is designated by someone or some group as a day to honor, celebrate or remember something or someone. As I write this, June 1 was National Olive Day and Flip A Coin Day and about 30 other designations. June 2 was National Leave Work Early Day and I Love My Dentist Day, etc.
There are a number of important dates and events recognized in June. The most significant ones include D-day, June 6; Flag Day, June 14 and Father’s Day, the 3rd Sunday of June. (For a small number of us-my birthday on the 18th😊)
What about monthly celebrations? Traditionally in Wisconsin we all (regardless of ethnicity, politics or religion) joined together in celebrating National Dairy Month. We are known as “America’s Dairyland”. That honorable designation has been attempted to be usurped by the radical progressives and changed to LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Disgracefully, beginning with Governor Evers first year in office eight years ago, the “Rainbow Flag” has flown over our state capital during the month of June, and June has been designated as LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
God cannot and will not bless a society/culture that celebrates that which He condemns. Regardless of the heretical proclamations of some in religious positions of authority, the Bible is clear that God created male and female and intended that one of each, with their children, should make up a family.
Ironically, the designation as “Pride Month” is appropriate Biblically. Solomon, and the Psalmist, wrote the following in reference to human pride:
“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”
“When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”
“Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
As we celebrate our 250th Anniversary this year, let us return to celebrating that which made us a great nation-a belief in God, who is sovereign and blesses individuals and societies that honor Him, patriotism-including honoring those who gave their all for our freedom; and the very deserving recognition of our dairy farmers. The small family farms are especially deserving of our recognition this month. Those who run these farms are the salt of the earth and the bedrock of our society.
Most counties have a designated day/weekend this month for Breakfast on the Farm or some other such designation. Please take part if you are able and thank them for their contribution to our history and our current well-being. But don’t miss church! God Bless America!
